Replicate MegaMan X camera

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum and i'd like to ask your help.
I'm trying to replicate Megaman X (snes) camera system, but i can't figure how to do those smooth camera transitions between some areas. To see what i'm talking about, watch https://youtu.be/lUlHBc_t94c?t=2321. When X enters or leaves "specifics zones", like the video, the camera smoothly goes to his "position" (could be X and Y movement). He doesn't necessarily leaves the viewport, like the classic Megaman series.
I need to make some sort of zone based camera, but with those smooth realtime transitions between "rooms" (not those doors transitions... already got that figured out with MagiCam plugin).
Anyway, sorry for the long post. Hope you guys can help me with this.

Here you go. Take a look at that capx example. Also search the forums for "camera zones" for other examples.
