  • Hi to all awesome Construct 2 Gurus.

I've been going around this amazing software and I would like to start my own local multiplayer game. But instead of looking into tutorials and such (which I did a lot in the last couple of weeks), is there any already-made basic project I could look out into in order to get some idea about multiplayer coding and controls?

Thank you very much in advance!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Hi,

It heavily depend on the type of game you want to make. IMO a local multiplayer is not always more difficult to do than a single player game. For example a one player shmup or 2 players shmup is the same difficulty.

Is there any built-in templates close to the genre you're looking for in C2? If so, I'd suggest choosing a one-player template and then trying to add a second player.

    Good luck!

  • By local I'm guessing you mean split screen or such? (Controls with one keyboard)

That's really easy actually, you just need to create another movement event but with another key and moving the Player 2 sprite.

If you're talking about LAN, then I think it's possible to do with the Multiplayer object, not sure though!

  • Thank you all for your answers.

By local i meant something like Speed Runner or 8bit Fiesta.

I'm building a platformer (pretty basic, actually) and I would like to add another player (and up to 4) to compete against.

    Thank you!
