Many of us are are probably nearly on steam (i'm in the top 100), is it possible for us to get a steam/steamworks plugin sometime in the future? alspal2013-12-02 00:28:10

Why should it be "secret"?

And Also, I don't know if the steam API can be easily included in C2 exporters, but this is interesting.
Game design is all about decomposing the core of your game so it becomes simple instructions.

I'm not sure it's possible to make such a plugin yet. It needs to be supported through node-webkit.

I seem to recall green heart games, people who made game dev tycoon, appearing on this forum a while ago and mentioning something about trying to integrate steam into a plugin or some such for node webkit. Haven't heard anything about their efforts since, tho.

Gah I was typing up a detailed post about that while you posted lol.

Previous Steamworks post

Seems like one of the guys who made Game Dev Tycoon posted on our forums last time this came around, before they were on the Steam Store.

To follow up, I posted a thread on their forum to see if I could get a response: GHG Forum post

Hopefully they'll respond here or there.

@Ashley
Patrick responded on the GHG forums about their implementation
Currently they have limited support (Cloud/Acheivements), but aim to hopefully open source the implementation later this year after cleaning up the code.

So thankfully they're still going to release their implimentation, and should be something to watch or even help expand once Open Source.Thndr2013-11-07 16:15:21

"It should be ready in the coming weeks and we will likely publish it under a MIT license so commercial use should be no problem at all"
Forum post

Great news for anyone considering Steam as a platform for their game.KFC2013-11-12 12:31:39
