[Request]Directional Blur

A directional blur with 4 attributes:

    Samples:

    Angle:

    Length:

    Z-Order: on top/underneath

With this effect we could accomplish a reasonably cheap motion blur effect by setting blur params with object angle of motion (angle) and speed (length/samples).

Could also be combined with the expensive but awesome looking multi-sample approach here (which would look way better with a proper directional blur effect):

I have made a motion blur effect for my own use a long time ago that is pretty much like your request.
It still needs some cleaning up and polishing to be published for public though. Whenever I find the time I'll try to work on it and release to the community.

I have a dozen other effects on the same situation, but I lack the time or drive to polish and optimize them.
Someday I'll get to it!

@Animmaniac

Know how that goes. I've been hoping to find some time to dive into GLSL myself, but just haven't got around to it yet.

Here hoping you find the drive again sometime. :)

Oh, boy! I bet this could also create some nifty sun beams. Thanks!

Would be the perfect solution to have trail effects on spaceships or bullets instead of messing with sprites & lerp.

Any news for this effect? This is really cool and could be put to use in so many ways.
