There are a lot of threads about making websites in c2. It's not recomended, but you can do it if you like. Here's Ashleys response in another thread why not to do it:

"C2 can be nice for making banner-ad style splashes and eye candy. But don't use it to make the whole website. C2 is designed as a game engine, and Google likely can't index any of the content in a C2 project. So your website Google ranking will suffer really badly if you make the whole thing in C2. Go with ordinary HTML and a few C2 bonuses."
Be nice until it's time to not be nice

There's no way a C2 project could ever be responsive, you'd have to create multiple projects and rotate your iframe depending on your parameters.

Anything that can be achieved through conventional web-design should always be kept to HTML. C2 is great for making games.

What do you mean by responsive? Games by definition need to be responsive. Is that a term for something that I'm not aware of?

Also, don't confuse the terms HTML5 site with Construct 2 site.... HTML5 is fine for creating sites, that is what it is for. Construct 2 uses one particular HTML5 control called the canvas. The canvas is for holding interactive elements. It can be great for adding things here and there, but using it to make your whole site isn't really what it is made for. It is similar to making your whole site from an image. While you can make it look like whatever you want, all the other functionality and features/benefits of HTML5 are lost if that is all you use...

In web design responsive means that the website dynamically resizes itself to best suit the dimensions of the window or device browsing it:

See here: http://bahs.com/
Try adjusting the size of your window and notice how the elements resize.

Responsive web design is the cutting edge of what designers can offer now, it's what SEO was 5 years ago! I can definitely see how the term is misleading though; never thought of it like that but responsive is such a normal word

C2 is a sensational tool for creating games, and thanks to it's obvious browser capabilities exceeds Flash in my eyes in regards to web multimedia creation... but it's awful at creating websites! For the simple reason that it's not a website builder! You can't crawl or gather any kind of relevant search data from a C2 project, you'd instantly fail checks from bodies like Google, W3C and the Disability Accessibility Act.

The humble .gif can provide animation for every browser in the world, I'd let C2 do what it does best, which is be a bloody outstanding game engine :)Mr E Bear2013-03-28 13:10:26

FYI. C2 can work with DOM objects and produce fluid UI web design. You could very much do a full content based website using C2. And in many regards it would be little different than say purely language side created site. Except.

It would be a pain in the ass to design a full content site using C2 and as Ashley says. Offer a poor system for content searching. however let's not forget the glut of Flash sites that were out there and popular. I'm sure you can still find sites like that.

Also there is still fine reason to use C2. you can use C2 as a website app.

Personally as a pure website creator I wouldn't use it. but you can and still maintain fluid responsive ui.
