Revolute Joint Issue

Get help using Construct 2

Hi,

i have a character with a gun attached to its head. This is set to point at the mouse all the time ( to aim )and can rotate 360 degrees. The character body and gun both have physics behavior and i have connected them with a revolute joint.

I understood that the revolute joint disabled collisions with the attached object but thats not happening. Neither is the gun being affected by other physics objects such as walls or doors.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have just had a thought. It might be because i am not using physics forces to move the gun rather than telling it to point at the mouse pointer all the time.

That'll do it. Any other movement/rotation/etc commands given to a physics object override the physics and can cause all sorts of weird glitches.
