Rim lighiting

Get help using Construct 2

hi everyone,
Im new to this forum and im kinda a noob with making games on construct. i was just wondering if there was some possible way to create/ fake rim lighting on sprites like for example using blend mode or something. i know there is no real lighting in construct 2 but what im proposing is that when a sprite enters/ collides with a "light sprite" the rim light sprite (which would be another sprite pinned to the original sprite)would become visible but only in the areas that is touching the "light sprite", almost as if the light sprite is acting like an alpha mask. my question to you guys is wheter this is possible or if there is an easier way to create this effect?
