I cannot download from that site, it asks me for registration... is that normal?

These are easy to make in vector ( flash or illustrator).

I really liked the sprites he created for the science fiction one.

Hi, thanks:) Illustrator only

Well there are many ways how you can create effects. Depends on style. I prefer cartoon style, but many guys are doing more realistic things.
