Is there any way to save/load things without using webstorage?

This would be very convienient when exporting to an exe file :)

I've created a setup file for my game, and I'd love to be able to save and load progress when playing offline. Like saving save files on your computer or something. Anyone?

You can use webstorage when exporting to exe. In Windows, it stores the data locally in OS:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\"AppName"\Local Storage.

Works for CocoonJS, too, although I don't know where it actually stores the data there. GeometriX2013-02-09 21:37:57

@GeometriX Wait, so I could just create a game, put some webstorage and export it as .exe and it works?

Maybe I just got an early version of my game where I did'nt do the webstorage correctly.

Do you have a working save/load nodewebkit app?

I tried using CocoonJS aswell and that really, really did'nt work.

Yup.

Uploading a 33MB file is a bit of an effort, but here are two completely working examples that you can export and test yourself:

My pleasure.

I realised that I accidentally uploaded the desktop one twice. I've corrected that now, so you can get the mobile test where I linked to it originally.
