Scalible window or full screen with Awesomium?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:53 pm

I exproted my game as as .EXE and wasa THRILLED with the performance! Silky smooth..much better fps than in browsers.

BUT, is there no way to set the export to make the game run in full scree mode, letterboxed scale etc?

Another question: Will Awesomium support the control pad support that is slowly appearing in browsers?

Use the 'Request fullscreen' action in the Browser object.

I'm not sure about Gamepad support - I'll have to investigate soon.

sadly I stand corrected..no idea why, but once I used the web object to make the game run in full screen mode the frame-rate is now drastically worse than in any browser!

It was running fantastic in actual resolution..simply scaling the game window to fill the screen should have definately not had such a devistating impact on frame-rate.. It got so bad my platformer character fell through the floor repeatedly while doing his stomp move. (moving vertically at high speeds). This never happens in a browser.

any ideas :(

Scirra is well aware of this issue, they are hassling Awesomium to fix it.
@Ashley is there a way to let everyone know of this? People are freaking out ;)

It's already documented in the changelog that it's a known performance issue. I guess people don't read the changelog :P

Please contact Awesomium about this problem, they are the ones who have to fix it - we can't do anything about it. The more people who contact Awesomium the higher they are likely to prioritise it, so please do let them know.
