Free version of FRAPS for video capture and screenshots, shows frames per second:

Outputs in avi files that are quite large. Best to convert to quicktime or upload to video hosting.

FastStone sharware screen capture:

quick, effective screenshot tool - can select portion of screens as well as scrolling screens.

Gamecam or Camtasia are the ones I use.

fraps is the best for recording construct games, it has the smallest overhead and can record the most FPS

For general use, I'd recommend Screen VidShot. It captures desktop and records sounds.
For gaming, most people use Fraps, but the output files it creates are really huge :(

It creates them uncompressed for maximum quality, but you can easily use Virtual Dub (which is also free) to compress the videos to your favourite format and resolution, including DivX.
