Words Search Puzzle Template in Construct 2 and Construct 3
  • Hi,

It seems that there's a server issue with the search function in the forum.

    This is the error:

    Server Error

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

I've tried it with 3 different browsers and different IP's.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Confirmed, same issue.

  • Oh yeah you're right, happening to me too. I think there's a section on the websites for Website issues.

  • I can confirm both the search and advanced search options are both working as intended.

If you really want to report an error, please give more informations/a better demonstration on how to reproduce the error.

Or perhaps was it just temporary and everything's fixed now.

  • It did it to me last night and right now. Anything I type in the Search box gives:

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    Advanced Search does work, however.

  • 404 error for me also, but advanced seems to work ok...

  • Kyatric I think flaye did a pretty good job of listing the error he received, and I don't think there's much to say about using forum search beyond "you type the term into the box and hit 'enter'."

What do you think he should have said, instead?

Also, using Chrome I just typed "Sever Error" into the search box, hit "enter" and received the same 404 error. Advanced search worked fine, as others have noted.

And if you notice RandomExile this simple sentence isn't even part of the original post.

The simple mention was "search doesn't work" which was untrue at the moment I tried it.

That's like someone testing a game of yours and simply saying "the game doesn't work".

What do you do with that ? It's not enough informations at all. Any serious bug report needs a more precise way/steps to reproduce the error on a consistent basis.

I do confirm too that at the moment of writing this post, indeed putting any search term in the "Search forums" field leads to a 404 error whereas using the "Advanced search" works as intended.

  • test

  • Should now be fixed

  • Tom works for me now, thanks...

  • thanks Tom :)

Maybe something showed up different for you. When I opened this thread, the first post was flaye's, with the full report, and the post hasn't been edited.

  • RandomExile &@Kyatric

Thank you both for looking into this. It seems that Tom took care of the issue and everything has been resolved.

Kyatric, I understand the purpose of being as specific as possible when describing errors, and the importance of clear and direct communication.

I tried to be as clear as I could when I wrote that - and I quote:

"It seems that there's a server issue with the search function in the forum" as well as provide the error that resulted.

I didn't say "search doesn't work". Maybe it was interpreted as such, possibly through the topic header (Search function in Forums broken).

In any case, thanks again and for being part of such a great and helpful community.

    Let's make games!
