Space Blaster pauses.

Don't know if this is a bug but...

I played Space Blaster on r52 and it worked great, it was fast and smooth.

I just tried it again on r54 and every time i press space to fire the game pauses for about a second then resumes.

I tried the Ghost Shooter demo and every time a ghost dies the same pausing happens.

I'm on the latest Safari.

Have you tried it on Chrome? If the pauses aren't there, it's a problem with Safari, not our code, so there's probably not much we can do.

I would guess it's to do with the audio playback - in my testing, that's the main cause of pauses (browsers loading sound effects). Once most sounds have already played and the game is "warmed up", it should be running fairly smoothly. Do you find that it gets better later on?Ashley2011-09-03 15:06:13

I don't think it's the sound. They're all playing fine, and why would it just be when i shoot? And it doesn't get better later on.

Guess i'll have to try another browser.

Yeah, give it a shot on Chrome and see how it works out. It seems to have the best overall performance for gaming, especially if you enable the GPU canvas in about:flags (the next release, Chrome 14, has this enabled automatically apparently).
