Spam-URL filter seems to ignore [/img url ]

as I saw in a spam thread, it was indicated that "Message: pmppminh can only post plain text URLS until they have 500 rep. 115 URLS modified."

However, when the url had [img] before ( [img]someimagelink[/img SomethingSomething http://www.google.com] for exemple ), the URL was still clickable (not that any of us would click it in that particular case but still an annoyance to see that it could be easily broken)

I still have a copy of the BBCode of the post somewhere if needed

I've reported loads of these recently. Hopefully @tom can instigate measures soon to limit these posts..

On a similar note, I'm finding that ANY time I use the img tag, it never displays the image. And it's a link copied straight from my Dropbox and made public, too.

@Rhindon Well now you know. :) Many websites do the same thing in order to prevent users from using them as their own personal image-storage, since bandwidth ain't free.

@DatapawWolf - I see. That makes sense. I guess I'll just have to provide the links "as is".

@DatapawWolf @Rhindon: Of course dropbox can hotlink images.
Check my current forum signature, the images are hosted on my public dropbox account and displayed through an img tag.

Just make sure to use the public link to the images as for any kind of dropbox public sharing.

As for hotlink :
Image
Clicking this image takes you to the image itself.

Just be sure to use first a url tag and then an img tag.
