Is there still a huge performance gain when reusing objects as opposed to spawning and destroying them?

Test it for your use case and then decide.
I personally found C2's pooling (or whatever method Ashley uses) sufficient, even for larger amounts.

"Bullet hell" on desktop for example is no problem anymore, even if you just spawn and kill outside the view brute-force style.

I have noticed that for mobile, reusing is much more efficient. Destroying and creating kills the performance.
