  • Hi guys,

    I'm only just starting to fiddle with Construct 2, but I wondered about creating mobile games. Usually, the touch screen itself acts as the buttons, using multitouch, and also allowing for held buttons. Example:

    <img src="http://cdn3.pcadvisor.co.uk/cmsdata/reviews/3337132/Stick_Cricket_White_Jayasuria.jpg" border="0" />

    I'm looking at a platform game which can run on mobiles, and I want to have two buttons, which you hold down (so "on clicked" won't do the trick). The "up" button allows the character to jump vertically, and the "right" button moves, er, right! Ideally, the longer you hold the "up" button, the higher the character jumps.

    I know there's a multitouch plugin, but I'm not sure anyone's using it like this?

    Cheers!

    Watto :)

  • Multitouch is supported by the touch built-in plugin anyway.

    Example commented capx

    From there you might noeed to tweak some values, make some tests to make sure your character don't jump too much, but for this you can experiment and also check the how do I FAQ in the sections like "Platformer".

  • I can't actually open this, as I haven't bought the full version yet (actually waiting to hear back regarding an educational license for my school), and the free version is a couple of updates being, seemingly. As soon as I get a reply, I'll check this out.

    Thanks very much for chiming in! :)

  • You can open any capx with the free version of Construct 2. You just need to have the most recent release. http://www.scirra.com/construct2/releases

  • The example supplied does not showcase multitouch. Could you please demonstrate an example utilising multitouch if possible, as I am having trouble getting it to work correctly.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
