Sprite Editor

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

What ever happened to the sprite editor from Construct Classic? I kind of miss it. I don't have any art programs for Windows and this would be a great solution if they add this back in C2.

It's a lot of work.
You can download and use freely gimp or paint.net in the meantime.

It's better to use a dedicated software for art since whatever painting features C2 might have added, it will never be the first goal of C2 to paint illustrations and/or sprites.

They could have just ported the version from Construct Classic though?

It might seem that simple, but it really isn't that simple for a variety of reasons.

I think Scirra's David is making it.

Use a pixel art oriented program like these:

Graphics Gale
Grafx2
Moai
Aseprite
Pixen
Promotion

Promotion is the most complete but it's paid. From the free ones the best are Graphics Gale (paid version only adds gif support) and Grafx2. Moai has lots of potential too.
