sprite swooping motion

Get help using Construct 2

I have this bird sprite that I want to do a swooping down motion and then land and walk for a few seconds and then come back up..and then mirror that....

whats the simple way of doing this.

That might be done in C2 itself , but I am not very much sure and still learning C2, the other way I can think is making an animation of the bird and then importing it to C2 as Frames.

Maybe I misunderstate state variables..

I am trying to get my bird to do these actions when the game starts..

birdflying(var)=0    ...thats what I set the variable to...

so if I say set variable(birdflying)=0 on start layout...shouldnt it do all the actions that are within that event?? not sure why its not.

got it to work when i took out...start of layout..

the bird sprite swoops down and collides with the collision..and its great
but when its no longer colliding it doesnt go back to birdflying= 0

Have you made an event to change birdflying back to 0, for I don't see any event for that in your screenshot.

I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..

yea I dont have that...I am not sure the best way to do that...I just want it when the bird no longer collides with the sprite..to continue the sine pattern.
