  • I simply hate that you cannot animate things in construct like flash.

How does one go about taking a sprite and then at certain times having it turn into a rag doll and have a natural transition between current animation, and doing a rag doll to match the animation of the sprite?

    Does this question make sense?

I can't be the first person in the world to want to do this.

  • Try Construct 3

  • i know what you mean, you have to manually create one and its bad. im hoping someone knows a way

  • yeah, because if I have an animation, and then when he gets hit or falls then goes into rag doll its going to look weird =/

  • no one has a darn clue huh? LOL. Am I the first person who wanted to take my animated character, and rag doll him when he falls?

  • Probably not. The ragdoll bit is doable with the physics behavior and adding joints between the limbs with events. Before that you could use Spriter or Spine to create the controlled animations. Both have plugins I believe.

I know little about either since I'm not so much of an art guy, but presumably you'd disable that and enable the physics to cause a ragdoll effect.

    Edit:

Looking at the spriter plugin it looks like you'll have to do a bit more. You can access "action points" from spriter animations so the best you can do is put a lot of those in the animation, and then when you want it to ragdoll you'd create a bunch of sprites in position of the limbs by using the action points as a guide.

Did you find a way? I am trying to do the same - substitute sprite player animation with a ragdoll after an event (death in my case). Do not want to invent the bike.
