Sticky wall jump

Get help using Construct 2

I couldn't find any forum posts that covered this, but if there is one point me in it's direction.

I've put together a wall jump, but I'm looking for the player object to stick to the wall a little, allowing the player to hold left or right for a few ms before the player detaches from the wall. As it is, the player, if holding the opposite direction to the wall, will fall without being able to jump.

I'm really stumped on this one, so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Something like this? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/58760772/wall_stall.capx

If all else fails I would dissect an example capx of ladder climbing. Similar functions... http://www.scirra.com/forum/solved-climbing-a-ladder_topic45310_page1.html

I can't seem to run your capx, probably because I'm using the free version. I'd already seen that tutorial and unfortunately it doesn't help.

I'll have a look at ladder mechanics, that should help me out. Thanks for the help :)

@lmchucho You are awesome! Thank you very much... I am wanting to try and get him to where he clings to the wall until jump button is released or left arrow is released on left wall/right arrow on right wall. Any idea? or would i just change the Wait time?

If I can find the time I may post a tutorial on this. After my double jump and wall jump tutorials I did a lot of work with wall cling/slide and have a decent method for it. The only things you need to do is to add conditions to check if the button(s) you want are down, etc...

Is there a way to simplify this and use the normal platform arrow keys? Seems to be a ton of code, I can't even understand how it works haha.
