Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • The new version of Construct will have HTML5 as main platform. And HTML5 has not necessity of DirectX, so i think that would wonderful have Construct in linux too...

    what developers think about it?

  • The developers have said before that they have no plans to port the Construct 2 editor to Linux.

The games themselves can be played in any HTML5 capable browser regardless of OS, though.

  • hm, i think i already read something about it, but i want know if they have any preview of a day to launch C2 to linux (sorry for my haste)... i'm too excited with this tool..( i discovered construct recently, i have used game maker until try linux and love it, and i got so hopeful to have a engine best than game maker and completely free in linux)

  • I think C2 might work in Wine, since it is OpenGL based, but I haven't tried. Next time I toy around with Linux I'll try it and post my findings.

  • i already tried before, nevertheless, it did not work >_>

i will be waiting for.... thanks

I might be wrong (I'm not around here all the time, so I may have missed something) but I'm sure they said that the C2 editor will only be written for Windows.

The exporters allow the games to run on different systems.

Also, C1 is free, but C2 isn't going to be free.

    Krush.

A slight misrepresentation, there will be a free version of some description, details are be finalised on this

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • i understand, i'm sorry for my mistakes...

whatever, i will follow the development of C2...

but, about possible port to linux, there are how somebody responsible for construct answer me?

  • It's a huge amount of work (possibly well over a year) for a tiny tiny market.

Your best bet is to contact the Wine folk and see if they can get C2 working with that.

    Very slight.

He was comparing it to GameMaker, but free, so he was clearly under the illusion that C2 would be 100% free, which is what I corrected him on.

    Krush.

  • ok, thanks for the answers, i think i will try learn html5 and java (lol)..

Or you could just use Windows?

I know which is the easier option...
