[Suggestion] Moving a whole layer

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2016 6:50 pm

Hi. I'd like to post a simple idea.

I would like to make a smooth looking menu tab transition. It would work like
Set layer X [layer.x+10]

It would move each object 10 pixels to right so offset would be x:10.
If I didn't describe it well, ask me specific questions. I'll answer them.

That's pretty redundant when Move and LiteTween behaviors and families already existed.

Just group all menu tab objects under a family and give the entire family a move or litetween named appropriately (MoveToView, MoveOutOfScreen etc.)

It's also more flexible and adjustable

@Sethmaster
I've managed to make this:

and i don't really think it is better than changing two values. Also it makes lag when you're doing an interpolation.

Like I said, use LiteTween or Move.
You will find it to be quite different and does not have lag issues.

Also, understand that an object can be attached to more than one family.

You can also pin everything to an anchor object and move it, won't do any different to performance, but will be easier to maintain and animate.
