[Suggestion] Outline effect / edge tracking

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Think it would be nice with an edge tracker, or outline effect. so if you add it to a sprite it will based on your settings add an outline around the graphic in a sprite. Which would be very useful for when a player select items in game etc. Or for mouse over effects to give players feedback of interactive stuff in a game.

Maybe the settings could just include a pixel size of how large the outline is. And maybe a color setting.

I like this Ida :)

I've made several other manoeuvres when I select and mouse over different things. The outline effect could be very useful, instead of making several animations on an object all the time - and or "invisible" sprites - for selecting...

+1 I usually just change opacity on mouseover but this effect is much nicer.

Why not create an animation frame that is basicly the image you have draw but Add the outline and use that when selected or hovered as you desire?

R0J0hound made an outline effect, I've been using it quite a lot lately.

+1 for I tried to do a mouseover effect on my sprite which consists of several small shapes. Creating a second sprite with outlines was a chore. Does paint.Net have such a feature?

Another way to highlight the sprite would be to use the tint effect on the selected sprite. Then turn that effect off when deselected. You can use this one tint for hover another for selected and then off
