  • Hello,

A little suggestion for today but no doubt it will ease life of Construct 2 users : when we zoom in with the mouse (ctrl + wheel), is it possible to zoom on the mouse coordinates ? Like Google maps, for example.

I have a big layout in my project. I zoom out a lot to have a global view and when I zoom in, it is always in the center of the screen !

Thank you for reading ! :)

  • Set Scroll to Mouse.X, Mouse.Y as you zoom in? :0

  • I'm talking about the interface in Construct 2 ! Not in game ;)

  • Try Construct 3

  • Sylvain I think it would be frustrating, because some times when I'm nervous I just use the scroll of the mouse because yes, and it would scroll in and scroll out when I'm nervous.

And like me a lot of people do this \o/

  • I think I understand what the OP is getting at.

For example, if you move to the corner in photoshop, it zooms relative.

  • I was just thinking the same thing, it always zooms to the center of the image and you have to scroll / drag to where you want. Photoshop zooms on where the mouse is, not the center of the image which is a godsend.

  • I'd like this too! Not understanding devMidgard comment though... You get nervous using construct, and hold ctrl then use the mouse wheel? I think it's a brilliant idea, saves zooming out, seeing where you want to go, then zooming back in and scrolling across. Like Supreme Commander controls!!! Great!

  • Count me in. That's nice suggestion.

But for now there's a bigger issue with zooming.

    1. Zoom.

    Could be more uniform: 100%,125%,150%...

    now is more like: 100%, 110%, 121%, 133% - using mouse scroll

And it's impossible to set ie. 200% zoom

That's my quote for a post I made almost year ago... still hoping it will be fixed Ashley ;P

You can get to 200% zoom by pressing Ctrl+0 (zooms to 100) and then ctrl+shift+mousewheel up (zooms by the 100).

  • Yes, I'm aware of ctrl/ctrl+shift shortcuts but still you have to be in 100% (or 200%, 400%). I always preferred "solid" number with zoom. I always thought watching something on 137% or 349% zoom is distorting (not sure if that's right word) what you really see, especially when you doing pixel art/games - it's just my internal opinion :)

  • Glad to see other people interested in that suggestion :)

  • +1

Me too. I'm using the suggested behavior in my games. It's much more intuitive and user friendly.

  • Holding space to pan after zooming in generally negates the need, though I agree it would be nice to have.

  • I don't know if it is just me or the nature of my graphics card, but my sprites get blanked out when I zoom out for a broader view. I wind up having to mouse scroll and it gets tedious navigating the layout. It would be cool if we could customize our zoom increments. Also it would be nice to see it scaled in the interface as it would appear with different scale settings, like letterbox integer.

  • Even more than that, I'd love to be able to zoom out further.
