[Suggestion] tab for indenting events

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

It would be nice if the tab key indented the selected events and shift + tab un-indented selected events.

I don't understand this suggestion.
Could you give an example of use that could explain it ?

Otherwise are you aware of sub-events, groups and how events work ?

I'm still not getting what you're suggesting exactly.

Here is an example:

If a user hit tab, it would look like this:

If a user hit shift + tab:

What I hate is that the formatting gets stuffed up all of the time. I will open a event sheet and the columns are all tightly pushed to the left of the screen and I have to move the columns out using the mouse. Why can't these sheets just auto format based on the width of the monitor. e.g., Actions start at the half way mark and each indent moved to a certain location.

hmmm, I really need to start and carry on a list as these are such basic problems that don't ever get attention. :(czar2013-05-18 21:01:13

I got confused at the screenshots, events already get indented for subevents which neatens things up :P it'd get awfully confusing if you could indent anything.

@czar , I totally feel your pain, it usually happens when the window for Construct 2 shrinks small then maximises, all the columns are pushed to the side. :P

It's not that complicated a suggestion guys... the suggestion is that pressing tab would indent an event, thereby making it a sub-event of the one above and that shift + tab would do the reverse (un-indent, making a sub-event it's own event at the next level up).

I'm pretty indifferent to this one: I guess it could lead to a faster workflow once I got used to it, but I don't find this to be a major slow-down in my process anyway.

When you edit or cut and paste code is when this suggestion would be handy.
