Thanks for the debugger!

  • Ashley, loving the new debugger. This will make life much easier.

I have been using it today already and it is performing better than I expected.

It would be nice if we could filter what is displayed, at the moment it is a lot of information. For example I might just want to see my globals and a few instance variables.

  • Or highlight maybe?

My hope is for Debugger events, for example, Call a Debug.pause so the project halts at that spot. Or a Debug.Watch to see if an event is firing. But I imagine he's already got that in the plan.

  • Yes setting a breakpoint would be an invaluable addition

  • I love the debugger but its currently not possible to work with it (for me)

    Because:

You cant use him in an exported html5 site. And my whole Game needs Ajax request.. And they just work in the exported files ...

It would be amazing if you could export the debugger.

  • Hi,

yes great addition. Nice to be able to look inside Arrays and at the webstorage too.

Cant seem to see my global variables though for some reason.

  • yes, how can we see global variables ?

  • I must have missed something...when did the debugger come out? I have the latest version and can't remember seeing anything about this anywhere.

  • Tobye,

It was added to the latest release (r140), just yesterday :)

  • Blacksmith - oh great! But I normally get an email, this is the first time ever I wasn't notified. Thanks :)

  • I can't get it on Steam, don't know why this beta version won't download <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Same here! I can't wait to try the debugger!

    +1

    Still no update... I have tried everything, literally <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Yes, I've already started work on my 2nd made game under Construct 2 and I'm loving the debugger. It's gonna make my 2nd game life quicker and easier to develop. My subscription for Stencyl Pro ends in November 2013, I don't plan on renewing, especially since their 3.0 has been in Beta for nearly a year and a half now.

I can't wait for an Ouya export, I plan to push this new game hopefully under that platform.

  • Glad the debugger is proving useful! We do have lots of improvements planned, such as breakpoints and a 'watch' (so you can make an area with just a few of your own chosen values showing).

Darklinki - AJAX can work in preview mode if you set up CORS right. Check the manual.

Global variables aren't shown because I forgot about them! Oops, will try to add in the next beta :)

The Steam update was late because I was away for the past two days - it should be live now.
