The manual

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Definitely a major thing missing from Construct Classic.

I'm very glad to see a manual implemented for C2. Good job to all involved!

Hi everyone,

I have started using construct a couple of days ago and am very excited about it.

One thing about the way the online manual is weird though: Is it updated with new features that are only in the beta builds? If so, I don't think it is the way to go if you want new users to keep their sanity

I spent more than 2 hours yesterday trying to create an 'OR' events block as very clearly explained in the manual (http://www.scirra.com/manual/75/how-events-work) but wasn't able to no matter how much I tried... Almost lost my mind and broke the keyboard and mouse LOL

It is only today that I read by coincidence that the OR and Else events have only just been introduced in the r86 beta build whereas I was using the stable r84 default download version.

Cheers. WASD2012-04-16 16:52:19

@WASD, you're right, we add documentation as we add features to beta releases. Generally it's only a couple of weeks until beta releases turn in to stable ones, so hopefully it's not too big a problem!

Ah, well, maybe in that case a little notation could be used to give a hint that an addition was made. Like [Add-r86-12.04.12] or something.

I guess that would even help regular users take note that something new have been added/changed in the manual and could be worth having a look.

I guess you can tell by now that I like reading manuals
