The Worst of C2: Lack of Scripting

Hi all,

i have tested Construct 2 so far. My verdict is that C2 is a great product with a lot of potential.

For me the worst of C2 is the lack of direct scripting posibilities. C2 is based entirely on JavaScript so it would be the greatest (Pro?) feature to add scripting support.
Have a look at Tululoo. Its the right direction.

If i am missing this feature and C2 has it already so i beg my pardon.

if you need to extend C2,you can write plugins, however there is no direct scripting in C2 for one reason: it is not needed due to the possibilities of the event system, as it was said before, it is not a lack, but a feature.

And that is why you shall respect the bug reports guidelines, not only giving a capx is making the bug reproductible in one click in a situation they can work with (less time wasted trying to reproduce vague instructions) but also it helps filtering false positives.

Game design is all about decomposing the core of your game so it becomes simple instructions.

C2's non-scripting Event System is it's raison d'être, and to bemoan the fact is nonsensical.
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.

Yes, this is actually a big feature of Construct 2: the event system is powerful enough that a scripting system is not a necessary alternative.

You can still add custom code using the Javascript SDK though.
