    cap and textures

  • Nice idea.

Hope you develop it to a point where direct saving of the new tile is supported. Maybe even importing own textures, resizing, applying image operations and the like.

(Dreams of bumpmapping baked into the generated tile, and a library function to manage the tiles)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I'm still no fan of the wait object, if it is used just to be able to place a dozen of actions in one event. It makes the event sheet very unflexible.

    But hey, it works.

The result is a fully functional editor that helps making seamless tiles. I like it.

One proposal: Why not letting the user decide where to save the generated png? Just using the CommonDialog to get a valid path shouldn't be hard to implement.

But, again, nice work! I like it.

  • Very nice, chrisbrobs.

I can only see a 'navigate right' arrow to move through the tile textures. Is this right, or am I missing something? The ability to go back to a previous texture would be useful :)

Added: Buttons to Scroll backwards through all textures (zeno98)

Fixed: Button to reset texture now works (it was opening a transparent texture)

Need help with this (its the last Group and it's disabled at the minute).....iv'e also added a button.

    Can't work it out ? ? ?

    Here's the latest cap

(only the cap so put it in the folder with the textures etc)

    C1TilemakerV1.1a

  • Here you are :)

    SaveFileDialog working

  • Thanks tulamide.

Ive finally made somethihg with Construct that i can claim is 99% working!?

I think i need include more textures and 'brick effects' to add a bit of variation though.

  • Almost there, chrisbrobs :)

Only one very, very, itsy teenie, weenie, slight quibble :/

The numbering on the navigation arrows looks a little messy as the count increases. 2 options I can think of are: place the count above or below the arrow or make the whole layout, and hence the nav arrows, slightly larger.

With the Noise 2 plug you should be able to generate a huge variation of textures, including bricks. Well once he gets it all enabled that is.

If you've ever used Filter Forge, or MapZone, you'll know what I mean.

Not familiar with Filter forge or mapzone, gonna have a look at Noise 2 plug in a mo.

    Cheers.

  • C1TilemakerV1.1e

Ive tried to incorporate a bumpmap generator(plus a few other effects)

Still experimenting, so you will have to play around with it.

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22173473/1.1e.png" border="0">

You can only save the bumpmap to the clipboard at the minute, because my brain is fried and i havent finished it yet.

    edit 05/08:

Didnt include the reqired 'ini' file in the rar file...it is now.

    link

(this only contains the cap and ini file 60kb)

you need the image files that come with the previous downloads to test it.
