Tiled Background vs. Sprite

Hey, guys.

My game intermittently loads without a background.

I tried background tiled object and even a sprite.

It's a large 1920 x 1080 semi-transparent overlay.

I'm not tiling anything, it's just a graphical overlay.

Any idea on the best way to accomplish this: large sprite vs. tiled background object, any difference in memory, performance, bugs, anything else, etc.?

I am using Windows 10 for now, so maybe that's the issue. Intermittent complete load problems on a lot of other C2 game files.

Tiled background is much better to use, because it loads one sprite and then repeats it. Let's say that this Tiled Background object is using 1kb sprite, so it will only use 1kb of memory, but if you use Sprite object with large sprite it will load it's whole size, let's say it's 50kb. So yes, definitely it's a memory saver!
