Time and Code manipulation

My friend Hemul1 sent me this video of a guy messing around with a game and some code. Some of you have probably already seen it. Essentially editing the code as the game is running, which is not entirely new. But then adds time manipulation and recording actions into the mix. Pretty cool.

That's cool and all, but knowing the math behind it all is much more effective than experimentation. For example rather than pressing pause, you could easily, if you know the algo, figure out the path by getting the height of the block below the star.
