Tools for drawing higher resolution tilesets?

Discussion of tools and resources for game developers

Hi
Does anybody know of a good program or a good method to create tilesets for higher resolution games? I know that there are tools available for pixel artists such as this one

which are really impressive and look like a tremendous timesaver but I can't find anything good for creating much larger tiles and my own method feels extremely cumbersome.Vercingetorix2012-01-14 08:59:23

Maybe this one?

Found it after a little websearch, but never tested it myself. I just saw, that there was no limitation for entering the tilesize.

Download link is in the description.

Free- Gimp
www.gimp.org/

-Use hard brushes
-Use Hue/Saturation/Curves/Levels/Colour balance for colour correction.
-Offset or use the make seamless filter to generate seamless tiles.
-Work on different layers and then download the export layers to image action
