trial period

For questions about using Classic.

Is it possible to make a 'trial period' for my applications, so people can download a fully functioning demo that only works for say, 30 days - before they buy the full version?

Something like MMF has...

Cheers! :D

You can use the Registry object to write a date to the registry when the program first runs, then check the registry entry every time the program starts up.

Better idea to provide a version with some features removed (or levels, etc), than it is to rely on the registry. It's far to easy to mess with that stuff and get around a date restriction.

You could still use the registry, but I suggest also removing some content. You can still provide a relatively "full" experience without a couple features.

^^^ What he said :). It's a much more secure way to do it, if security is your concern.
