Trying to make sense of multiplayer

Get help using Construct 2

I have been going through the multiplayer tutorial and it's awesome but, I still can't get my head around how syncing works. I have the following example where 4 players can join the room, their ID & username are inputted to vars and displayed within text objects.

Iv'e been attempting to do is;
When a player presses space the the text object with their ID will turn blue on everyone's screen.

Each way I have tried changes either the host's screen or the peer's, can't get it to update on all.

Right click on the tab in the browser and click duplicate (in chrome) to get another player into the game

I don't see any events pertaining to the color change at all, you're probably gave link to the wrong one.
Anyway, a bit of comment, for "on key pressed" use send message, but for "key is down" use sync client input.

sorry about that, here's what I have so far but it's only the hosts text which changes color.

I find sometimes that I try so long getting something to work how I want that I just try anything until it works and don't fully understand how :)

Line15 and 16 is incorrect. They're supposed to be top level event and not nested under line12. Line 17 and 18 should be nested under line 15. The events looks complete to me, I think there shouldn't be any problem after you rearranged the wrong event.
