Tycoon / Business Simulation Type Game

Get help using Construct 2

So my question.. how would this type of game be done in C2 (more a static numbers game like game dev tycoon than something like transport tycoon where you actually build stuff)?
How do i store stuff like character progression, skills, bought items / upgrades / buildings, etc..
the noob that i am would store everyting in variables since i don't know anything else but that seems awfully ineffective..

any hints or tutorials that might point me in the right direction?

You could save them in a Hash and save this one a database(Save way even if the player switch the platform) or you do it with an Array and webstorage.

If you're not very familiar with arrays and data storage etc, perhaps you should start with something a little simpler. a tycoon/business type game is one of the hardest to make because there's so much math going on under the hood.

You can check whatever is in an array by using the debugger.
