Hello everyone

iam in the process of my game creation and testing few things out like art style tiling and level design

it is going to be close to Castlevania Sotn style
the game will have rpg elements and also some of my own ideas from favorite games the project is big so dont expect to see real gameplay soon(at least until i find someone more experienced than me in C2 for gameplay reasons)

Some of the features will be

Player leveling system
Inventory items potions etc..
Secret weapons armor
Demon companions (not sure about this one)
active combo system
stats priority for different builds(also not sure on that)
a great story
cut scenes(i would like put voice acting but this probably not going to happen)


tell me what you think of the game and give me feedback (gameplay art etc..

Awesome, if the gameplay is half as good as the art, it will be brilliant...

Not sure the demon companions is a good idea, they would just ruin the atmosphere...
As long as I can move left, right and fire, I'm Happy...

Sounds great in writing! Interested in seeing it in action. Actually like the idea of the companions, though I think it would have to be more a main feature otherwise it will just seem like a tacky addon. If you get a good enough concept that could be a defining factor in your game verses other platform games. There was a guy on here who made a really cool and dark plat former called Victor, it would have just been another simple plat former but he added a cool jump feature which changed the whole game style and made it unique, those demon companions could be that factor for you I think. Just my two cents.

Also, did you do all that art yourself?

so you think demon companions doesnt fit into the game e? hmm maybe

it will work like that you have limited times calling them but they last for a few seconds

another idea is you unlock unique demon forms and each one has special abilities

thanks for the feedback i have crazy ideas about the game but its hard to apply them (at least with my knowledge)

yea i am doing the art alone the trick is the tiling composition for a good looking level

It has a somewhat Vampire Hunter D feel...

I quite like the idea of the companions tho to change form would make me think Altered Beast which was only fun for like 5 mins :)

"demon companions" gives an image of a sprite that follows your actions, two main character sprites spoils the broth...

But built into cut scenes with transitions or transformations sounds good...

playtest needed...;)
