User chosen name?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Thu May 08, 2014 10:58 am

Started a project, and had a cool idea where the user could type in a name at the beginning of the game, and each time the user interacted with something that required the name, the name would get spit back (e.g., you choose your name as Bill, and when you interact with something, it will create a text box saying "Hey Bill!").
I've looked around a bit, and haven't really found anything like this. So, is it actually possible, and if so, are there any ways of going about it?

Yes it is possible need to use text box and save the value in a variable! and then use it as you like it.
Every Game is a Good Game it's just few people like and few does not! Keep coding people some day you will be a "NOTCH".

Ah okay thank you! What would the variable look like? I had a peek around it and still wasn't quite sure what to put in.
