Using Construct2 with WebSockets?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:29 pm

Hey all,

I'm looking to more-or-less put together some kind of online game using a combination of HTML5 and WebSockets.

I'm *hoping* to be able to slot in Construct2 for the graphics / audio on top of my network layer, so I'm just asking around to find out about the known constraints of Construct2..

Is it only geared for arcade / platform / puzzle experiences?

thanks in advance!

Not really, anything 2D is possible. I've been working on turn based 4X and RTS for example :)

The manual entry for WebSockets covers the use cases briefly.

Wow that's exactly the kind of meat I was looking for. Thanks so much @Ashley!

@Vee41 : Best of luck and thanks for chipping in. It's good to see more diverse projects being worked on (hey now - not that there's anything wrong with arcade / platformers).wazoo2013-02-22 18:41:40
