What are most sucessful games made with construct

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Sun Oct 08, 2017 9:36 pm

I am curious to know what games had the most financial success that were made with a construct.

It doesnt matter what plattform they were released, steam, xbox, web whatever, I wanted to know what are the best "construct cases" =p

Do you guys can remember any games ?

The Next Penelope seems to be the best title for financial success I bet: http://steamspy.com/app/332250

Our C2 title Insanity's Blade is on Steam too (http://store.steampowered.com/app/33419 ... tys_Blade/) and the SteamSpy stats for owners # are fairly accurate (use the upper range): http://steamspy.com/app/334190

As for any C2/C3 games on mobiles or consoles (eg: Wii U or Xbox), I wouldn't know, but I would imagine it's not going to be anything as action oriented as the two games above due to the reduced hardware available to work with.
Construct Classic - Examples Kit Dropbox is a pile of trash and if you need my old files PM me! :)

Hi, I'd like to ask you something about your steam game.

I do not quite understand those statistics.
The game was released in 2014.
Are they still having sales?
Even if you do not promote the game the sales follow ?.

The game has looks great graphically and looks fun.

@The Mnk, we still do sales from time to time yeah! People still buy it, but it's very much driven by word of mouth and YouTube Let's Players as we focus on Battle Princess Madelyn now (our next title, in-development and we switched from Construct to Unity)

Thanks for the info.
I can see that the votes are positive on Insanity blade.

This tells me that there are no problems (no major problems) with NWjs and C2.
This is why I'm making a game of low resolution that will use NWjs for Steam and knowing that makes me feel good.

Thanks again and sorry for the offtopic.

@The Mnk there have certainly been major problems with NWJS and C2 for us, which is why we switched to Unity for our next game.

Almost every negative review and negative Let's Play on YouTube had bugs in the collisions due to HTML5 not running well on their machine (which were often good enough to run modern 3D games just fine).

@SVR Audio Thanks!

It's very hard to say which games are the most financially successful ones. But there are quite many C2 games that have sold a lot of copies and brings in good revenue. My game for example is far from a hit game but still generates enough of sales for me to make a good living out of it while I'm developing my new game.

I think it is only a matter of time until we have a big hit game that makes millions made with C2 :P

And even though it is a free game I would consider "There is no game" made by KaMiZoTo to be a huge success as every big youtuber has played it by now and have been seen by millions and millions of users.

That is very unpleasant, is what I hope does not happen to me.
The problem is HTML5, so I think you can not solve this problem? What does Ashley say about this?

I have too much work done to port Unity, although also soon I will have to use unity due to my dissatisfaction with C3.

@The Mnk by blaming developers and ignoring evidence that HTML5 is not even matching Construct Classic (which by Scirra's admissions is not nearly as optimized as C2) the stand-point of Scirra on this is that it's not their issue to deal with. And to a limited extent they're right, most of the problems occur on machines that simply can't run HTML5, or problems in NWJS export that Scirra has no control over.

But given the way C2/C3 are advertised as "export to all these platforms" and "nearly as fast as native" I personally feel like there's some valid arguments for Scirra to take more control over the export side of things.
