What shader effects do you want?

Hi all,

Was hoping we could perhaps start a thread for shader requests, suggestions, etc. so that those of us who are considering writing custom shaders in OpenGL ES can get a sense for what the community needs/wants.

This is not a request list for Scirra developers but for community contributors - though I'm sure Ashley will find it informative as well.

So, what kinds of effects would you like?

A neon glow/lightening.
Is it already doable with a configuration of the currently available effects ?
To be honest I haven't spent much time testing them out yet, I wish this list could also provide some "templates"/configurations.

Good thread idea !

Oh thanks for making this a sticky!

Neon Glow (with a flashing/static option) was one of the first things I was thinking of taking on.

I'll add a list to the first post as suggestions come in.

It's hard to get possible shader effects, but now there is a possible list of effects:

-Perspective
-Tunnel
-Relief Tunnel
-Square Tunnel
-Deform
-Monjori
-Star
-Twist
-Kaleidoscope
-Z Invert
-Fly
-Plasma
-Lens Flare
-Cross Fade
-Julia Fractal
-Flower

Yeah Neon Glow. It might as well replace current Glow effect which sorta doesn't work very well, like compared to Classic one;

For me
Cartoon Shade
we can make simple desing and the cartoon shade make the black borders
and calculate the color degradations in the body of the objects.

@Joannesalfa - I asked the authors of some of those effects on the ShaderToy for permission to include them in Construct 2. However some authors weren't happy with the fact their work was going to be included in commercial software, so didn't give permission for use. I think they could still be adapted by a third party developer though, as long as they distributed them for free.
