When to make an exporter

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Would it be better to start now while the code base is small or later when Construct 2 is more stable?

That would depend on your view on making revisions.

It's up to you - a tradeoff between having to probably deal with EDK changes as you develop but being ready as soon as Construct 2 is mature, against releasing later but probably with a more straightforward development process.

It's a big job though - a complete exporter, runtime and library of plugins.

Just thought of another factor:

[quote:3bjyb9gs]So in short, the fact is, long term, Construct would probably peter out and stop if we don't make some kind of money from it. - Ashley[/quote:3bjyb9gs]
I wasn't planning to start immediately (probably a month from now); however, I'll wait and see what fate has in store for Construct - which I hope is big success. Thanks for the input.

Start with plugins and get acquaintanced with Construct 2. Then I guess it'll be easier to make an exporter at a later point.
