It's gotta be good enough for games or else why would Nintendo support it?

From the article:

"The Wii U console is powerful enough to smoothly run such applications as developed in this way without writing any specific programs."

No mention of webGL, though that doesn't mean they won't support it. They also mention some other aspects of the system are running using HTML5 and web technologies already.

I can't imagine Miiverse doesn't have some HTML5 backbone in there.

By the way, this could be unbelievably exciting if we can get a Miiverse plugin (assuming this all pans out). It already supports a lot of neat social things, and people being able to sketch things about your game is a cool idea.

But then the cost of a dev kit, too...

Yeah the Dev Kit is gonna be the big "If" factor here. It's an exciting potential though. At least Nintendo is being super reasonable with their release fee's.
