Hey there everyone.
I'll need to give some of these games a shot. :)

I've got two games on the Windows Store.
Griff Dangers in Mettle vs. Metal
This game was originally made for Ludum Dare 24, decided to turn it into a Windows 8 game. It's a 2d platformer/shooter where the enemies adapt to what weapons you use.

Vartun's Pillar
This one I made for the Windows 8 competition Scirra had. It's a point and click adventure game I made in two weeks. I didn't think I'd get it done in time for the comp, didn't finish it until the morning of the last day. But then when I submitted it, MS only took 7 hours to get it up on the store, so I was really happy about that :)

I wrote Nevada City Ned for a weekend hackathon in Nevada City, California.

Feel free to PM me if you need help getting your game into the Windows Store. I work for Microsoft and am happy to help. Or, contact me through my blog.

Hey Ben,

Did you check out the Marketing your App article on MSDN? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj193596.aspx

Also, in working with developers (I work for Microsoft) with successful apps in store, they do all kinds of marketing from Facebook ads, to buying ads from Microsoft Adcenter/other ad platforms, and even advertising their apps in their other apps.

Good luck!

Hi, all.

First of all great topic, and some cool games there!

Just wondering if any one has tested any of these on a Surface or any other Win8 tablet.

The reason I ask is that the only way I can check how the game I am working on looks and performs on a tablet is via the simulator in VS, and the performance is sluggish to say the least. I have tried most of the games listed above and the same is true.

So is the simulator indicative of the performance of a published game, or is the performance lag just due to any overheads of the simulator itself.

Note: they all run fine on the desktop, but not in the simulator.

Thanks.
If it can be done, someone on the web will show you how to do it!

@michael Surface tends to perform poorly and the simulator isn't accurate. Feel free to send me a build with an fps counter and I'll let you know how it runs.

@thehen,
thanks for the offer, as soon as I get something worth trying I will take you up on that. Should I send .capx or the win8 export?

Thanks for your help.
