  • Hi all,

We've tentatively published Mortar Melon on Windows Phone. I've been getting a couple of weird reports from people that I can't reproduce so I'd really appreciate people helping me out with testing!

Any bugs you find will help improve the Windows Phone plugin!

  • Try Construct 3

  • guero I've released a game before on Windows Phone and we got 200k downloads. This probably won't get anywhere near that, but it's a great starting point for us to test on smaller screens.

I've found some weird bugs already :(

  • If I had a windows phone, I would try.

But not many people here in Singapore have windows phones.

I actually don't know 1 person who owns a windows (8) phone xD

  • thehen which bugs are you talking about? Any bugs that you cannot reproduce?

A friend of mine give it a try on the lumia 620. It runs a bit laggy :(

  • tipztv damn we don't have a 620 to test on. Apparently it has a different clock speed so that might explain it.

  • thehen maybe you should go to a local store to test it? the 520 (lower specs) is even more popular than the 920.

  • The update is now live so any crashing should be fixed and performance should feel much better. These improvements have also been added to the Windows Phone Plugin.

  • This is looking really good performance wise even on my low memory phone (HTC8S)! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

How are you finding sales currently in comparison to the Win 8 version?

  • Run like butter on my Nokia Lumia 928. All the original levels had no issues at all.

  • EyeHawk sales are roughly double per user than that of Windows 8. We've got roughly 20k downloads already, so that looks to be good too.

BluePhaze great to know! Thanks for testing!

  • That's good to hear! When Battleship Islands was on top free for a few months, it made a little bit of money to cover costs (excl my labour) but it definitely wasn't enough to make a living by a long shot.

    I may have to revisit WP8 <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Do you reckon between WP8 and Win8 stores it's possible to make a living with MM and your other upcoming games?

  • One odd thing I do keep seeing is I keep getting prompted on the marketplace for an update, then as soon as I say update it immediately clears as if the update has no size to it and already finished. But then it reappears a shot time later as an available update.

  • EyeHawk yeah we've made all our money through a cross-platform publishing deal. Windows 8 monetises very poorly. I think ad-supported would be a better approach for the future.

BluePhaze We've been having some issues with the store too - it seems to be at Microsoft's end. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.
