  • Decent. On .co.uk we're still page 4 .

  • Second page in sweden! Pretty good!

  • Try Construct 3

A finnish guy from some university of applied science apparently made an 32-page essay paper about Construct :D "Construct as a tool of game development"

Actually, that essay serves pretty well as an user manual :D... And it has an english summary too, go ahead and check.

    Was it you?

  • No, it wasn't me, if it was, why would I present my own essay as somebody else's ;D

There's other finns too. (I know you are there, you bastards, since I always lurk here, although I seldom post >;3)

I don't think 'construct' as a keyword matters much, as what it is targeting. So i did small reasherch too with the frases that matters the most :

Game Creator - 37th on the listing

free game creator - 19th on the listing

2d game creator - not ilisted

2d game engine - not listed

open source engine - not listed

    ( i did check up till position 200 )

A bit of SEO wouldn't be a bad idea. But It's not that bad according to google keyword tool.

  • Wow, that's cool - I hadn't noticed - like Rich said I'd only seen we're on the 4th page for Google.co.uk.

Good point - maybe when we come to implement the site redesign we can think about that more carefully. The main thing right now is probably that we have a pretty low profile since we're still in beta - not that many people know about us.

Link to this board and/or your Construct projects on other forums, in the form of a sig link or game announcement threads, etc.

If you see any "Looking for game making software" threads out there, mention Construct.

The more (reputable) links that Google can track back here, the higher the rank will get.

Don't spam, though. Spam is bad. Just bring it up when it comes up.

  • Spam isn't bad . It's way more effective than traditional methods, and can cause very little (or none) harm to random people.

  • Spam could damage the reputation of the project if people see us as needing to resort to spam to promote a program rather than it being quality enough on its own.

  • Indeed, the best way is a discrete link in signatures on other forums.

  • I don't put stuff that is not my own in signatures. But I do refer Construct if I make something with it.

That is the idea - make games, mention the tool you used; like "In Another Brother" stirred some interest of experienced developers who are now in love with Construct.

Word of the mouth works the best when you want to target the right audience. We don't really want to attract the masses of pubescent rabid fans of Dragonballz who want everything the easy way.
