Work in progress assets

Discuss Scirra's 2D Asset Store

Post » Thu Jun 11, 2015 3:48 pm

Hello Kay

Welcome here.

Your character is looking nice, but I am not able to figure out the dress, it is looking more check board type maybe due to size.

You are doing it in 3D?

Keep posting and uploading on the store.

Hello @famekrafts

Thank you for talking - it's nice when you get your first response in new forums on a new site. Yes Alice has been rendered fom 3D objects and yes this particular version of Alice has checked clothing but I have less annoyingly dressed Alices too and a myriad of other characters.

Of course I am sat waiting with baited breath to see if she gets approved as you do with your first thing I guess! As I have so many little characters that I think could work well as assets here then of course I am quite excited. :x

I couldn't really find a great place to ask this question so as it is to do with work in progress for 2d Store assets then it could perhaps squeeze in here.

There is a category for graphics and there is another category for spriter animations

I am awaiting approval for a set I showed in this forum yesterday - they are a set of .png files that work together to create animations I have posted these to graphics but I am now wondering whether I should really have put them in Spriter Animations? I didn't as I did not create them using Spriter - or am I mistaken.

So should my set of sequenced .png graphics be in graphics or spriter animations?

@blurtsmum

spriter animations are specialised for.. well.. the spriter software

i also posted my animations under graphics, so your good, your product will probably be activated today,
if you upload you most likely get activated the day after, and sometimes in weekend also, not always

Hello @vtrix
Thanks for that reassurance and also for giving me hint at how long the approval takes. That really helps. As that is the case and I know I have things in the right category then I'll probably put some more through for them to looksie at too :)

@blurtsmum Unless you use the spriter animation software, no need to put it under that category. Spriter is cool if you can learn it. It works with many game engines and there is no need to export the animations, spriter file can be imported inside the game engine.

@famekrafts I should get round to learning to use my Spriter Pro really - it's on my creative to do list. I'm probably in a good place to learn now.

I appear to be gathering quite a large selection in my approval queue now. Not really sure whether to keep filling it or wait to see if they are approved in case there are any problems - these will be my first you see. I have to admit to feeling a tad impatient and excited. I submitted a few days back now and of course I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas.

In the meantime I thought I'd share a few more of those that have been submitted. So meet some new characters. :)
