that means no more GameMaker engine .. :)))) that wont be so fun to use anymore later,... not so sure what will happen for the indie developers community that use it, i'm guessing they will have to move to Construct 2 , since the guys that bought GameMaker aren't programmers but (clickbet company like - that uses Trojans and hidden cookie trackers)

Wow, end of an era? Though it'll mean one less competitor. After all that YoYo went through to allow devs to make games for the current gen consoles they just sold out. EDIT: After reading the reddit posts, GM may not end up being taken off the market, similar to the havok engine.

I can't imagine what die hard supporters must feel right now. Unless I'm not understanding the situation.

I picked GM up during a steam sale awhile back for super cheap. The software was buggy, crash prone, and heavily bogged down by DRM. Users that have invested a lot in to that engine are right to be worried. Playtech is not the type of company that cares about community and game development other than for pure profit. The company also has questionable practices with malware. If I was a GM user I would be worried about the future of the product.

I think that yoyo had already spoilt the GameMaker by over-commercializing it.

Saying that another similar company will destroy it? Nah, don't think so.
