Found an interesting sprite on the web, that gave me an idea for a possible top down.
... maybe

Mouse down to move. Notice how the torso moves more realistically?
Sorry about the noisy wavs, I'll do better next time I swear!

Any way this is more of a demo for movement than for a game.

Not sure if it's just me, but the RAR file seems corrupted?

:(

It's a .zip file ;) but yeah winRAR won't read it.. must be compressed with newest version of Winzip that winRAR doesn't support or something.

Ah 7zip... didn't even think to try it... it's not installed on this machine anyway. And...er... the zombies are still... dead? When I click the download link it gives me a "File does not exist" type of error now. O.o

Nvm... it's working now for some reason...

Mmmm nice :D I like the pseudo 3D effect on the body animation. It gives them really good depth. They kind of wig out a bit if you circle your mouse around a lot... they get all twisted and stuff, but I'm sure there's an easy enough way to fix it. For a demonstration of the idea though it does a great job. If you could animate some zombies like that it would be totally sick!

I tried 7zip last night and it gave the same errors. Maybe because mine is an older version..

Like you Soldjah I had problems downloading to begin with... anyway works now. Pretty cool effect indeed.

lol tank zombies  they have a turret-like torso! it would be nice as a subtle twisting anim; limit the angle the torso can rotate around the waist. 20-35* seems right. BHRRAINZ!

Well somebody(not me) took a 3d mesh of a skeleton, animated it into a walk cycle, then I'm guessing took two renderings. One with the torso, and one with the legs. Not terribly hard, just time consuming.
